Topps Performance Baseball - Prototype Only - One Made.
(Topps made one card each, honoring just a handful of All Stars, to be used in an online Fantasy Baseball Game. As a prototype made specifically for a company meeting on this project — and never to be seen by the public — accuracy was unimportant. Thus we see Ichiro in his Mariner's uniform on the front, yet playing for the Philadelphia Phillies in his stat line on the back. While in Philly, he surprised everyone, especially himself, by hitting 69 home runs! Not even the math for his batting average is correct. Having 629 at-bats with 223 hits should show a .338 average, not .324. Topps abandoned the game idea, and destroyed all the other prototype player cards. Only the Ichiro card survived, thanks to the Fantasy Game project manager.) $2,000 - $2,500

Topps Heritage Prevue Edition #726.
(Has Heritage stamp at top left. Issued in 2003.) $5 - $10

Topps Reserve #151 "Rookie Card."

Topps Reserve "Mystery Card." Not an Ichiro Item!
(Promises a "Numbered mystery rookie card with an autograph," which buyers hoped — and many sellers hinted — meant an Ichiro card. We have yet to learn of anyone getting an Ichiro. Ours turned out to be a Joe Thurston card.)

Bowman Cut-Out Card
(According to Topps, contract problems caused them to cease production of this Ichiro card, though some had already been printed. As with similar cards that the manufacturer didn't want in circulation — such as Levar Arrington's 2000 MVP Upper Deck #189 — they die-cut all but the border of the card. Still, some of these cut-out, border-only, cards found their way into packs. Thus far, we know of three examples, each of which is cut in exactly the same manner. The reason the borders are kept intact is that the uncut sheets have other cards sharing borders. We have yet to learn of an uncut copy of this card. Does anyone reading this have a Topps/Bowman 2001 Sell Sheet that lists and/or pictures this card?) $15 - $25
